Estudio tipológico de la arquitectura vernácula. Aportes y síntesis de la complejidad

Abstract

El presente artículo estudia los aspectos ordenadores de la edificación vernácula a partir de los componentes emplazamiento, tecnología y función; así como su interrelación con el contexto natural en el que se emplaza. La arquitectura vernácula de las provincias de Azuay y Cañar, Ecuador, se encuentra emplazada en tres zonas climáticas diferentes que varían entre los 24 hasta los 3806 m.s.n.m. El objetivo es presentar una síntesis de esquemas tipológicos que revelan determinantes en la arquitectura y, que al mismo tiempo dan origen a nuevas líneas de investigación para construir propuestas arquitectónicas culturalmente apropiadas y asentamientos más sostenibles.
