La convergencia regional en España y las causas de convergencia del PIB per cápita en Cataluña

Abstract

Se estudia la existencia de convergencia del PIB per cápita en las regiones españolas y se analiza la convergencia “catch-up” en Cataluña, para el periodo 1955-1999. Los resultados obtenidos indican que las regiones españolas convergieron durante el periodo 1955-1979 y, divergieron en los años 1979-1999. Con respecto a Cataluña, se determina que el capital humano es el principal causante de la convergencia del PIB per cápita durante 1955-1999.
