Un marco de análisis teórico para el “problema” de la cuenta corriente

Abstract

Los años noventa son testigos de importantes cambios estructurales en la economía mexicana. El gobierno y el sector privado redefinen su papel en la economía y cambian radicalmente las reglas del juego económico. El gobierno abandona años de intervención en los mecanismos de asignación de recursos, adopta una actitud de prudencia y responsabilidad fiscal, al mismo tiempo que los mercados internos se abren a los flujos globales de comercio e inversión. El objetivo de este ensayo es desarrollar un modelo macroeconómico que permita evaluar los efectos probables de estos cambios en las decisiones de ahorro e inversión de los agentes del sector privado, la cuenta corriente y el tipo de cambio real.
