Abstract

Introducción. El proceso de industrialización de México en las décadas posteriores a la segunda Guerra Mundial, al igual que en otros países de la América Latina, contó entre sus rasgos característicos el de generar una inserción ineficiente en las corrientes del comercio internacional de manufacturas. Si bien el proceso de sustitución de importaciones, mientras duró, condujo a una disminucion notable del coeficiente de importación a demanda interna del conjunto de la industria, el acelerado crecimiento de esta última implicó una rápida expansión del volumen absoluto de importaciones, que no fue absorvido por un crecimiento paralelo de las exportaciones industriales...
