¿Hay «KIBS ocultas» en la pequeña dimensión? Explorando la «función KIBS» de los campeones ocultos desde las capacidades tecnológicas

Abstract

Este artículo exploratorio sugiere la existencia de KIBS ocultas que anidan en el tejido económico-empresarial de los territorios. Se plantea una conceptualización original y novedosa que va más allá de la literatura tradicional sobre servicios avanzados. Mediante un estudio cualitativo de casos, este trabajo pone el foco en las capacidades tecnológicas de los «campeones ocultos» y analiza el rol de estas pymes internacionalizadas que asumen la «función KIBS», sin serlo, en el marco de los Sistemas Regionales de Innovación. El estudio revela que, gracias a la configuración de ciertas capacidades tecnológicas, estas empresas actualizan las competencias del capital humano en su contexto empresarial y facilitan la especialización inteligente en la cadena de valor, generando nuevas actividades económicas y posibilidades de empleabilidad basadas en el conocimiento intensivo.
