Infraestructuras avanzadas de telecomunicación: soporte para el desarrollo de la sociedad del conocimiento

Abstract

Generalised spreading of advanced telecommunication infrastructures is usually considered as a sine qua non condition for the incorporation of persons and territories into the new socioeconomic paradigm represented by the knowledge society. This article examines the scientific soundness of this argument and then goes more deeply into the study of the characteristics and degree of development of said infrastructures (broadband networks at present, ‘new generation’ networks in a near future) as well as the critical analysis of the public actions targeted at promoting their progress.
