Abstract

International finance has undergone very strong transformations in the last times that go beyond the strict financial field. The purpose of this article is to summarise the historical process that explains the transformation of the financial base, insisting on the fight and the specific conflicts of the different studied periods. That allows a higher comprehension of the current financial dynamics, its protagonists and its main winners and losers. It is also very important to highlight the origin of the increasing financial instability and its role in the capital accumulation dynamics tied to the processes of globalisation.
