Money: from the reification of social relations to money fetishism

Abstract

Discussions on the definition of money are usually related to a secondary positionby both Marxists and non-Marxists. This paper aims to clarify the function of money ina contemporary society by, first, analyzing the realized utopias of money abolition. Then, ananalysis of the money in the European society. JEL Classification: E41; E42; E51.
