Abstract

Western Europe is at the core of the international trading system, even if the regionhas been hit by the crisis the world economy has been facing since the early 1970s. Thispaper discusses the trends of the European trade since the post-war period and compares itto the economic development in Latin America. JEL Classification: F14; F10; F43; F53.
