Abstract

Este artigo tem como objetivo fornecer algumas reflexões sobre o potencial dafronteira agrícola como geradora de emprego, tomando como ponto de partida uma análisedas tendências demográficas registradas em áreas de fronteira durante as últimas décadas,particularmente durante o período 1970-80. Argumenta-se que a fronteira agrícola, nas circunstânciasatuais, tem potencial limitado como absorvedora permanente de grandes contingentesde mão de obra agrícola.
