Teror Saldirilarinin Turizm Sektoru Uzerindeki Etkileri: Turkiye Oznelinde Ampirik Bir Analiz

Abstract

KUresel olcekte artan teror olaylari iktisadi, politik ve toplumsal bir takim ardil sorunlarin da tetiklenmesine sebep olmaktadir. Bu sorunlardan biri turizm destinasyonlarini hedef alan teror saldirilarinin turizm talebi uzerinde yarattigi saptirici etkilerdir. Onemli bir turizm merkezi olan Turkiye’de artan teror olaylari, terorun ve guvensizlik ortaminin turizm sektoru uzerindeki muhtemel etkilerinin incelenmesini gerektirmistir. Bu amacla, 1992-2011 donemi kapsaminda, OECD ulkelerinden Turkiye’ye yonelik turizm talebinin teror olaylari karsisindaki duyarliligi Sabit Etkiler Panel Veri Yaklasimiyla incelenmis ve teror saldirilarinin turizm tercihleri uzerinde saptirici etki yaratip yaratmadigi amprik olarak sinanmistir. Elde edilen bulgular, genel gorusun aksine, teror olaylarinin turizm talebi uzerindeki saptirici etkilerinin Turkiye oznelinde ve analiz doneminde dikkate deger olcude olmadigini gostermektedir. Calismanin turizm talebinin belirleyicileri ekseninde guvenlik perspektifini on plana cikararak gorece yetersiz ampirik literature katki sagladigi soylenebilir
