Results of a statistical study of the references cited in the search reports established by the EPO (January 1981)

Abstract

Statistical studies were made in order to determine whether or not it was possible to limit the searches in time, to documents from a certain country or to patent-documents only. It seems that in certain fields the search could disregard the non-patent literature but all other kind of limitation seems to result in a loss of information.
