Information management in telecommunications : Guidelines for developing countries

Abstract

Through the use of a management information system (MIS), a telecommunications organization can acquire or produce the data and information it needs to control more effectively current operations, stores, maintenance problems and financial accounts; it can also enhance long-term planning and the acquisition of government and external financing. This article provides general guidelines for management of telecommunications organizations in developing countries in the early stages of institutional and managerial development to improve information management in its organizations.
