An ordered relation between the ANOVA estimator of the intraclass correlation and a kappa-type statistic in binary data

Abstract

The ANOVA estimator of the intraclass correlation coefficient for categorical data given in Landis and Koch (1977) will be shown to be always greater than or equal to the kappa-type statistic suggested in Fleiss (1971).
