Abstract

In this work, we discuss some properties of spacings based on order statistics from normal population. We present the joint density of spacings and then obtain their marginal distributions. We compute some moment characteristics of them and propose two transforms for them. Through one of these transforms, we derive a limit result for the lowest spacing. Other limit results for spacings are derived from an analysis of limit behavior of normal order statistics.
