Abstract

•Community firearm violence impacts marginalized groups in the US disproportionately.•Structural racism is a key factor driving disparities in rates.•Cities with a history of structural racism have higher shooting rates from 2015 to 2019.•Need for research and interventions to address historical structural racism.
