Current status: Production of high efficiency monocrystalline silicon solar cells

Author

Listed:
  • Bruton, TM

Abstract

The recent progress in high efficiency monocrystalline silicon solar cells at the laboratory level is briefly overviewed. Technologies which are at the preproduction stage are described and those technologies which are in actual production are critically assessed especially the laser grooved buried grid cell which has demonstrated efficiencies of 18% under production conditions.
