Energy in Estonia

Abstract

The energy situation in Estonia is analyzed and comparisons are made with the energy consumption per capita in developed countries having similar climatic conditions. It is shown that if Estonia follows the trend of sustainable development using all its local energy resources and bringing the energy conservation of its dwelling and industrial buildings up to the contemporary western standard, it should be possible to avoid introduction of nuclear energy in Estonia.
