The performance of PV systems and components in the THERMIE programme

Abstract

The Commission of the European Communities PV Demonstration and THERMIE programmes have been managed by DG XVII, the Directorate General for Energy, since 1979. Within the programmes 125 projects, with an installed capacity of over 4.2 MWp, have been undertaken, covering applications ranging from rural electrification, to professional telecommunications and monitoring systems, to grid connected power generation.
