Abstract

In the present paper we investigate two semi-empirical relationships for calculating both incoming long-wave radiation and the net solar radiation under the weather conditions of Egypt. Data calculated by the semi-empirical methods were compared with the corresponding values measured by the Meteorological Authority of Egypt at different surfaces and locations to test the applicability of our relationship under the weather conditions of Egypt. The comparison shows that our semi-empirical methods are in good agreement with the corresponding measured values which supports the adequacy of our semi-empirical relationships to be applied with confidence under the weather conditions of Egypt.
