Ecological villages, a European reality

Abstract

The process of change from linear systems in the current restructuring of society is of technical, economic and social character. Demands are not made only for technical transformation, but for changes in attitude. Such a complex shift must occur in successive phases of efficient ecological technology and new economic models that include quality and environmental value. Experience shows that the transition from a concept and the laws of physics and chemistry to built ecological projects is sometime contradictory and complicated. It is more difficult in dense urban areas with existing infrastructure, built up in a linear system, and attempts to phase in recycling technology often meet considerable obstacles. Still the structures of ecological villages exist today and will also in the future.
