Abstract

The recognition of the central role of solar radiation processes in many proposed solar energy applications and climate change mechanisms led to the initiation of an international radiation transfer model comparison, a study that has the purpose of evaluating and improving solar and longwave calculations used in climate models. Because of the lack of observations to validate the radiation codes, the study has followed the course of testing models with techniques that employ the most advance physics and evaluate the equations with high numerical accuracy. The proposed code establish very high estimate to solar radiation components that at different cloud conditions; the solar components has the availability for assessing the linke turbidity factor in the absence of actual values deduced from direct measurements.
