Abstract

A new kind of the optical q-squeezed first excited states as eigenstates of an appropriate two-photon annihilation operator corresponding to the Biedenharn–Macfarlane q-oscillator are presented. It is found that deformation parameter q plays an important role on the nonclassical behaviors including quadrature squeezing and sub-Poissonian statistics as well as the photon antibunching effect. Also, the q-photon-added squeezed first excited states are constructed and squeezing properties of the Hillery-type N-powered amplitude in these states are examined.
