Interaction between buses and passengers on a bus route

Abstract

We study the bus delay and the passenger behaviour on a bus route by the use of the bus route model. The time-headway model of the bus route is extended to take into account the passengers on buses. The bus delay relates with the number of passengers on buses. It is shown that the dynamical phase transition between the delay and schedule-time phases occurs with varying the initial time-headway. We study the effect of not stopping at bus stops on both time-headway profile and number of passengers on buses by applying the two criteria of passing.
