Abstract

Within an extension of Migdal's method and mean field theory we study the layering transitions temperature, TL, for a spin 12 Ising model under uniform and variable magnetic field in a film of finite thickness limited by a single substrate. General formula are given for an arbitrary number N of layers. Phase diagrams are given for N = 3.
