About entropy and correlations in a fluid of hard spheres

Abstract

A synthesis of the structural and dynamical phenomenology exhibited by hard spheres at equilibrium is presented, with an emphasis on the relation between entropy and multiparticle correlations. A novel criterion for the freezing of the fluid is also proposed.
