Abstract

As a continuation of our previously published work, the generalization of the Glauber model to a spin-1 Ising system in an external magnetic field is presented. Due to the influence of a magnetic field, stable equilibrium solutions of order parameters become zero continuously independent of the ratio of coupling constants or the relative energy barrier α and the symmetry of the system breaks down. The dynamic equations are solved using the Most Probable Path Method below the quasi-critical temperature. The solution is given by means of flow diagrams and results of various assumptions about the rate constants are described. It is also illustrated that stable, metastable and unstable solutions are independent of choice of rate constants. The conclusion reached is that if one quenches the system below the quasi-critical temperature the system finds itself in the metastable state, hence becomes frozen-in in the non-equilibrium state.
