Abstract

Measurements of the photocount probability distribution and the half-open photocount time-interval distribution of laser light scattered by some nematic liquid crystals are reported. It is found that the statistical properties of the scattered light are compatible with the assumption that director fluctuations behave as a Gauss-Lorentz process.
