Abstract

High water pressure is one of the primary reasons for fracture water inrush through numerous cracks at the entry points of deep tunnels. Two types of tensile shear failure modes and one type of compression shear failure mode have been established for fracture water inrush under high water pressure condition. In this study, the condition for critical water pressure for two-dimensional crack initiation is proposed and the criterion for water inrush in fractured rock mass is revealed. Next, the model of crack cementation weakening and block collapse under continuous action of water pressure is established. Finally, the collapsing process of the block under the action of hydraulic pressure is simulated by immersed body–spectral element method (IB–SEM) system.
