Abstract

As global attention intensifies toward improving environmental conditions, the identification of key factors fostering environmental sustainability emerges as a paramount global priority. This study explores the intricate influence of natural resources, economic growth, hydro energy, urbanization, and financial globalization on the load capacity factor in BRICST nations. Utilizing panel data spanning from 1992 to 2022 and employing advanced panel methodologies to address cross-sectional dependences and slope heterogeneity, our empirical analysis reveals compelling insights. Specifically, urbanization, natural resources, and hydro energy contribute positively to an increase in LF, while economic growth shows a negative impact on LF in BRICST nations. Surprisingly, financial globalization does not exhibit any significant influence on the load capacity factor. In light of these findings, we offer recommendations for policymakers in BRICST nations to prioritize initiatives that balance the sustainability of natural resources and the promotion of economic growth.
