Abstract

This technical note extends the model presented in the "Least Cost Safety Inventory for Large Transfer Lines" published in Omega, 21(4), pp. 471-480, so that the sum of the cost of the units lost from the output of the transfer line and the holding cost of the safety inventory at all stages is minimized.
