A model of information activity in organisations

Abstract

This article describes a computer model of the information activity in an organisation and its evolution over time. The model can be tuned to particular organisations and used to explore the impacts of strategies for the introduction of new information technology. The model structure is described and its applications are outlined. Some conclusions are drawn on the usefulness of computer models in this context.
