Abstract

Civil Aviation has slowly transformed itself from a mode of transportation for the elite to an essential infrastructure necessity for the society. How this important infrastructure develops and prospers in a country, depends totally on the kind of support it gets from the operating environment. This paper gives a brief history of civil aviation in India and analyses the operating environment in which civil aviation industry in the country is operating. The analysis has been carried out on the basis of articles and news items which appeared in the local/international news papers and journals.
