Enterprise financialization, technological empowerment, and enterprise risk-taking

Abstract

Based on data from Chinese listed companies from 2012 to 2022, this study examined the relationship between enterprise financialization, technological empowerment, and enterprise risk-taking. The findings indicate that enterprise financialization and technological empowerment enhanced enterprise risk-taking. Enterprise scale moderated the relationship between enterprise risk-taking and enterprise financialization. Moreover, the impact of technological empowerment on risk-taking in state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and non-SOEs was heterogeneous.
