Abstract

The paper gives a brief account of the energy situation in Singapore, which is a city-state with no natural energy resources. Singapore is not only a growing industrial center, but also a major sea and air port. Therefore, it handles considerable amounts of bunkers for ships and airplanes operating under the flags of many nations. Singapore is also the site of the third largest oil refining complex in the world, processing crude oil for a number of countries.
