Abstract

The tendency to lower the temperature of boiler flue gas below the dew point temperature has increased and usually the energy efficiency is calculated within the boiler balance boundary. Because the recovered heat is commonly used outside the balance boundary the calculations of efficiency in the extended balance boundary are presented for boiler house. This paper presents a method of assessing the energy and exergy efficiency of a steam boiler house, in which the modernization that was carried out consisted of cooling the flue gas below the dew point and absorbing the recovered thermal power.
