Policies for the promotion of renewable energy in Poland

Abstract

The entry of Poland into the European Union will require significant adjustment processes in the energy sector. This paper gives an overview of the current electricity-industry restructuring approaches employed in the European Union and Poland, with a focus on the promotion of the use of renewable-energy sources for electricity generation, and it assesses the policy implications of the accession of Poland into the European Union.
