Abstract

The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic has created an environment in which many mental health factors have been affected, leading to an increase in the prevalence of major depressive disorder and anxiety disorders. The aim of the research was to conduct a quantitative and qualitative study, on a sample of 450 students, on the incidence of depression among students, with variables such as biological gender, age, home, environment, type of family, ethnicity, religion, marital status, field of study, academic year, depressive symptoms, suicidal thoughts. The instruments used were an inventory of depression and suicidal thoughts, and a centered (focused) interview, which involved investigating students identified with suicidal thoughts.
