¿“Ni muy muy ni tan tan”? Situación y evolución de la natalidad de la provincia de Córdoba (Argentina) en el contexto de la pandemia de COVID-19

Abstract

En esta investigación, se analiza la natalidad de la provincia de Córdoba (Argentina) durante la pandemia de enfermedad por coronavirus (COVID-19). Se utiliza un abordaje exploratorio y descriptivo, de tipo cuantitativo, que incluye la comparación de los nacimientos mensuales ocurridos nueve meses después del inicio de la pandemia (entre noviembre de 2020 y octubre de 2022) con los nacimientos mensuales acontecidos un año antes (es decir, de noviembre de 2019 a octubre de 2020). Posteriormente, se cotejan los nacimientos mensuales ocurridos en la pandemia con los nacimientos resultantes de pronósticos probabilísticos y una serie de nacimientos desestacionalizada. Se encuentra que el impacto de la pandemia en la natalidad cordobesa se expresa como una baja esporádica y no tan contundente como se esperaba, dada la influencia en las decisiones reproductivas que suelen tener los contextos sociales y económicos inciertos.
