El uso de informacion sobre orfandad para estimar la supervivencia en edades adultas

Abstract

El metodo es particularmente satisfactorio en el caso de orfandad materna, presentandose una ilustracion de su aplicacion con datos de la Encuesta Demografica de Bolivia, realizada en 1975. Posteriormente, se examinan los supuestos sobre los cuales estan basados dichos metodos, el sesgo obtenido en la estimacion, la informacion necesaria, los distintos procedimientos que se pueden seguir para aplicarlos, los errores tipicos contenidos en la informacion y las conclusiones generales mas importantes que se derivan. El documento se complementa con un apendice donde se examinan las caracteristicas del sistema de tablas modelo de vida de Brass.
