Importancia del sector industrial para el desarrollo de la economía brasileña

Abstract

En el presente artículo, basado en los postulados de Kaldor sobre las fases deldesarrollo, se concluye que -a pesar de haberse modernizado gracias al procesode apertura económica- la estructura industrial brasileña muestra una evolucióncaracterizada por el aumento de la participación en la producción de bienes debajo contenido tecnológico. La tendencia a la apreciación del real, al comienzode la apertura económica, influyó positivamente en la modernización del parquetecnológico brasileño, pero su prolongación en los últimos años -en el marco deuna elevada liquidez internacional para los países emergentes- pone en peligrola evolución del sector manufacturero nacional. Esta podría sufrir un retrocesotecnológico, proceso que según el principio de causalidad circular acumulativaafecta negativamente a la capacidad de encadenamiento del sector industrial conlos demás sectores de actividad y acentúa la dependencia externa de la economíaa largo plazo.
