Tres casos de "japonización" de la relación de empleo en Argentina

Abstract

En los últimos 20 años la relación de empleo japonesa se ha ido convirtiendo en el estándar global para las empresas transnacionales. Sin embargo, su introducción ha ocasionado conflictos con los estándares locales: en el caso de Argentina, con la cultura igualitarista de los sindicatos. La esencia de la relación de empleo japonesa reside i); en la combinación de los diversos elementos de la organización flexible del trabajo (polivalencia, kaizen, etc.); con el pago de un salario competitivo basado en evaluaciones individuales, y ii); en un acuerdo de empleo de largo plazo, que en Argentina ha sido debilitado por reformas neoliberales. ¿Cómo podrían los sindicatos impulsar una flexibilidad interna cooperativa, garantizando a la vez la estabilidad en el empleo? El presente ensayo encara este interrogante, basándose en entrevistas con las empresas Ford, GM, Toyota y con el Sindicato de Mecánicos y Afines del Transporte Automotor (SMATA).
