La transformación de la acción colectiva en América Latina

Abstract

Asistimos al desaparecimiento del paradigma clásico que veía en la posición estructural el elemento determinante en la conformación de la acción colectiva y de los actores sociales. Producto de los cambios estructurales y culturales en el mundo y la región —la transformación de la débil sociedad industrial de Estado nacional en Latinoamérica y la desarticulación de las relaciones clásicas entre Estado y sociedad — la acción colectiva tiende a configurarse principalmente a través de cuatro ejes:la democratización política;la democratización social o lucha contra la exclusión y por la ciudadanía; la reconstrucción y reinserción de las economías nacionales o la reformulación del modelo de desarrollo económico, y la redefinición de un modelo de modernidad. Ello da origen a actores sociales más fluctuantes, más ligados a lo sociocultural que a lo político-económico y más centrados en reivindicaciones por calidades de vida y por inclusión que en proyectos de cambio social global.
