Türkiye’de Saðlýðýn Eðitim Üzerindeki Etkileri: ARDL Sýnýr Testi Yöntemi ile Bir Deðerlendirilme

Abstract

Eðitim ve saðlýk, beþeri sermayeyi oluþturan iki temel unsurdur. Her iki unsurun, beþeri sermaye üzerinde etkisinin olmasýnýn yaný sýra birbirleri üzerinde de pozitif etki yaratma güçleri vardýr. Saðlýk; eðitime katýlým, devamlýlýk, eðitimi tamamlama açýsýndan eðitime katký saðlar. Eðitim ise; bireylerin saðlýklarýný koruma ve geliþtirmeleri konusundaki bilinç düzeyini artýrma gücüne sahiptir. Çalýþmada, saðlýðýn eðitim üzerinde yaratacaðý pozitif etki, Türkiye için ARDL Sýnýr Testi Yaklaþýmý aracýlýðýyla incelenmiþtir. Veri kýsýtý nedeniyle, 1975-2014 dönemine ait veriler kullanýlmýþtýr. Çalýþmada saðlýk göstergeleri olarak; bin kiþiye düþen doktor sayýsý, kiþi baþýna düþen cari saðlýk harcamasý, doðumda yaþam beklentisi, onbeþ yaþ üstü kiþi baþýna alkol tüketimi kullanýlýrken eðitim göstergesi olarak ise genel okullaþma oraný tercih edilmiþtir. Analiz sonuçlarýna göre, kýsa dönemde kiþi baþýna düþen cari saðlýk harcamasý ile okullaþma oraný arasýnda negatif iliþki tespit edilmiþtir. Uzun dönemde ise modelde yer alan saðlýk deðiþkenlerinin tamamýnýn okullaþma oraný üzerinde negatif etkiye sahip olduklarý belirlenmiþtir.
