Toward to Real Gain With Virtual Venture: Avapreneurship

Abstract

Thanks to the developments in technology, internet has become an indispensable part of daily life since the 1990?s. Depending on the developments over the time, the usage purpose of internet has gained diversity and spending time in virtual worlds has become one of the purpose of internet usage. Today, millions of people from around the world spend time in virtual worlds with different concepts. To exist in the virtual worlds that vary according to the pereferences, people create virtual identities called ?avatar? in addition to their real identities. Increasing number of the people spending time in virtual worlds which of them are like reflection of real life (such as Second Life), lead to some other developments. The big companies exiting in different parts of the world have begun to take place in vurtual wordls such as Second Life, after realising the importance of the virtual worlds. Second life is especially chosen for this study. Second life is suitable for entrepreneurship because of the possibilities that Second Life let its users do such as produce goods or services, open bussinesses and converting the virtual money into real money. Objective of this borad literature review based study is to evaluate the opportunities which are directing people to be enrtreperenurs in virtual life whether he/she is entrepreneur in real life or not.
