Abstract

Seljuk Sultan of Turkey II. Kılıç Arslan ascended the throne in 1155, right after the death of Sultan Mesut. As soon as the Sultan came to the throne, he took part in many struggles in order to establish a structure far from political unity in Anatolia. In this sense, there were serious struggles with the Danishmenians, who were the biggest obstacle to the political unity of Anatolia. In addition to this, Nureddin Mahmut Zengi will be in a struggle with the Armenians and Emperor Manuel, and when the time comes, almost all of them will be eliminated. As a result of these developments, Sultan II. Kılıç Arslan will significantly fulfill the political unity of Anatolia. In addition to these developments, Sultan II. Kılıç Arslan has divided the country among his children, which creates a situation contrary to this struggle that has been carried out. Even towards the end of his life, the sultan felt remorse for doing such an act. However, in general, Sultan II. We see that II. Kılıç Arslan was in a struggle until the end of his life to ensure the political unity of Anatolia.
