Investigation Of School Administrators And Teachers' Views On Creative Leadership And Teachers' Motivation

Abstract

This study aims to examine the opinions of school administrators and teachers about creative leadership and motivation of teachers in educational institutions. Qualitative research methods and case model were used in this study. The study group of the research consists of a total of 10 participants selected from schools in Bursa province Yıldırım, Osmangazi and Nilüfer districts in the 2022-2023 academic year. The data of the research were collected through semi-structured interviews. The collected data were analyzed using the content analysis technique. The findings of the study showed that school administrators and teachers define leadership mostly through coordination and cooperation. It has been determined that school administrators and teachers believe in the importance of leadership in educational institutions and that employees should have leadership skills. It has been understood that the reasons why school administrators and teachers consider leadership important in educational institutions are the ability to provide order and coordination in institutions thanks to leadership, and to create a good and quality school environment thanks to leadership. It has been concluded that school administrators and teachers believe that creative leadership can be taught. It has been concluded that in the evaluation of creative leadership skills, being able to produce solutions, communicating, having common sense and management skills should be used as criteria. It has been found that school administrators and teachers are of the opinion that educational institutions should be institutions that take responsibility and have a distinctive corporate culture in order for creative leaders to be effective. According to school administrators and teachers, if creative leadership is used in educational institutions, innovation will increase, employees' motivation will increase and employees will work more in a sense of responsibility. In addition, creative leadership will have a positive effect on teachers' motivation. When creative leadership is effective in educational institutions, the creativity of teachers will increase, their belonging will develop, and teachers will be more productive, more problem-solving, more open to development and happier.
