Abstract

In 2019 Covid-19 pandemic put people with chronic diseases under the high-risk group. While people who experienced breast cancer as a chronic disease had to delay their treatment due to the health risk in the hospital environment, they were also deprived of care and social support at home. They were among the groups that were most affected psychologically by the presence of a deadly threat in their bodies and outside as well. 10 women with breast cancer, 1 breast nurse and 1 therapist, a total of 12 women, aged from 18 to 65 coming from different cities of Turkey, met in a dance video to be broadcasted on social media with the theme of "I Love Myself". The therapeutic dance video was designed to create a state of being connected despite isolation, to reinforce the desire for life and inner strength with dance and music tools, and to create a feeling of being connected with life through the hearing and seeing of expression. The project reached 3000 people on social media. Its positive effect on the participants was assured by verbal feedback. It has been observed that this study has a short-term therapeutic effect in coping with the sense of belonging and other basic concerns. From the feedback received, it is understood that dance/music tools are healing and effective tools in creating social awareness.
