Abstract

Information, which attaches importance on an international scale and is the axis of development, takes its place as the most valuable factor, especially in economic fields and studies. Knowledge economy is the economy based on the direct production, sharing, management and use of the said knowledge. The fact that information has taken its place in the forefront in the international economy in recent years, and the technological transformations experienced in both social and information and communication fields reveal the importance of the notion of information economy. Attributing value to knowledge in the economic environment makes economic studies more and more knowledge-oriented. The aforementioned knowledge economy sheds light on a path of transformation and development in social and economic terms by making many changes at the macro and micro level. This revolution in information technology is renewing many of the old industrial and professional constructions, renewing the definitions of entrepreneurship and competition, and creating an increasingly globalized new market for innovative products and services. However, the economic research and analyzes needed to grasp the reflections of the dynamism in the field in question are insufficient. This study aims to discuss the reflections of the knowledge economy perspective on micro and macro economic constructions and its positive effects in the international arena. In line with the findings, the developments achieved by the wide spread of the instruments used in the knowledge economy; It has created changes in the quality of employment, social and cultural life, exceeded the geographical locations between all the countries of the world by revitalizing the international trade, and by transforming it into a global construction, it has reduced the costs of reaching information, especially for medium and small-sized companies, and allowed them to take place in the world market. In the evaluation of the study, the effects of macroeconomics in terms of foreign trade, employment and economic growth are emphasized; The effects of microeconomics are discussed in terms of production, consumption and markets. In addition, the formation of the opportunity cost of financial capital of the knowledge economy and the effects of communication and information technologies on societies and therefore on the economy are mentioned.
