Abstract
Humorous, funny, expressive and thoughtful things that make people happy and laugh are called humor. Humor is the tool that allows us to think about the funny side of our values in this life. In order to understand a well-made humor, it is necessary to have a creative mind. As the ages have changed, the understanding and types of humor have also changed. With the emergence of written communication and news sources, people became acquainted with written humor, and people who imitate and amuse the society with laughter moves were thrown on the roof. People who make humor have started to draw cartoons and write funny stories and have become the representatives of modern humor. The humor, as any translator will tell you, is a difficult area in the act of translation. Much of the humor is derived from double meanings and puns, petty and subtle cultural analogies; this means that these constructs are often not easily translated. This is not difficult to understand, for much of humor has to do with the resemblance of one word to another, or the way it brings to mind certain connotations that belong to the world of that language and the culture associated with it. If the understanding and production of humor is intuitive and skill-related, as some theories suggest, the challenges faced by translation students who encounter a humorous text are numerous and complex. So, if translators or translator students cannot understand a humorous text, how can they reproduce it? This study aims to introduce the field of interdisciplinary humor translation to translators and their candidates. With the examples given, in the conclusion part, some suggestions about the difficulties experienced in this field are presented.
